Advance Memphis posts Impact Assessment Report

December 31, 2019 —Advance Memphis is pleased to announce publication on their website of an Impact Assessment for the years 2017-2019 performed by Slingshot Memphis (www.slingshotmemphis.org). Advance Memphis is proud to be one of the first four local non-profits that Slingshot partnered with in 2017. The report presents, “Advance Memphis earns an ‘at least strong’ rating on two of the four dimensions” analyzed in the assessment: benefit-cost ratio, use of best practices, and measurement infrastructure. Steve Nash, Executive Director, comments, ”We are thankful for the board and staff of Slingshot Memphis and their significant work in Memphis.  Partnership with Slingshot continues to impact and improve Advance Memphis’ infrastructure which supports our programs, resulting in highly relational long term work- our foundation.  They understand that the humanity and dignity of the gifted men and women we serve cannot be reduced to numbers.  Advance Memphis staff appreciates Slingshot and their expertise and relational approach to improving our work as we strive to bring economic stability to South Memphis through empowering our neighbors.”

Slingshot, in the Impact Assessment, states that the benefits of Advance Memphis exceed costs, that best practices are being used and developed, and that there is a strong measurement infrastructure. Further, the report reveals how difficult it can be to make systemic impact on poverty in Memphis though the lives of many individuals are being transformed.

20th Anniversary Celebration highlights Hope for Urban Community

Capturing the story of the first 20 years of Advance Memphis happened through the hard work of chairman Bryn Wilson.  We are thankful for her hard work in capturing God’s faithfulness to South Memphis long before Advance Memphis began.  View the storyboards using the link below:
