November Prayer Letter

Prayer Requests for Our Work Life Class

Our last Work Life class for the year has just begun its second week, with 15 students currently enrolled. Please pray for our staff and participants as we close out the year.

  • Pray that our students would be given a spirit of endurance and would continue to come to class, especially as we start to experience cold, wet weather.

  • Pray for the staff members who are leading the class, that God would give them wisdom and grace as they navigate the classroom.

  • Pray for the health of our students and staff as we enter cold and flu season.

Prayer Requests for our Programming

2023 may be winding down, but it’s not over just yet. As we look back on this year and plan for next, we ask that you lift up our Programming team as they prepare for the coming year.

  • We’re grateful for Hannah Saufley, who has recently joined our Mobility Mentoring team! It’s been a joy to have her. We pray the Lord would bless her time here and continue to draw new staff who will help us grow in our mission to equip our neighbors.

  • Pray for our Faith and Finances students, who will be graduating this week. Pray that the Lord would give them wisdom as they apply the strategies they learned to save, to give, and to honor God with their finances.

  • Pray for our graduates who are currently working, that the Lord would bless the work of their hands and that they would experience the dignity that comes when we live out God’s good design for us. (Gen. 2:15)

Prayer Requests for our Neighborhood

We love and are so grateful for the relationships that we’ve built in South Memphis. Our neighbors bless us in so many ways, and we ask that you would intercede before the Father on their behalf as we continue to learn from one another.

  • Pray for our neighbors struggling with mental illness, that they would seek the Lord’s comfort and be able to find the help they need. (Psalm 34:4-5)

  • Pray for our OTC participants, that the Lord would strengthen their spirit as they seek healing from addiction.

  • Pray for an end to the violence we see in our city and that shalom would come down from heaven into our streets. (Zech. 8:5)

  • Pray for our elected officials, that they would lead selflessly and seek out God's wisdom as they create policies for our city, state, and country.

Prayer Requests for our Staff

  • Pray for our employment development team as they continue to foster relationships with the business community. Pray that as they form new relationships, more opportunities for employment would be opened to our graduates.

  • Pray for the health and safety of our warehouse staff.

  • Pray that the Lord would draw more fulfillment and outsourcing customers to us, that we would be able to create more job opportunities in South Memphis.

  • Pray that as we enter year-end preparations and the holiday season, we would pause to remember the reason this time of year is so precious and thank the Lord for His many gracious gifts!
