Share the Love Supply Drive looks a little different…

We have been delighted to partner with so many Advance Memphis supporters over the years through our Share the Love Supply Drive. Each February, generous donors have stocked our classrooms with school and office supplies for adults working on their GED/HiSet diploma while enrolled in a Work Life or Faith & Finance class. However, after taking time to reflect on the needs of our neighbors in South Memphis last year, we made the decision to discontinue our GED/HiSet program and instead recommit our energies toward Gospel-centered workforce development and promoting financial stability, which are at the core of our mission. We are now referring friends and neighbors to amazing community partners such as The Excel Center and HopeWorks, which are both focused on providing adult education. In light of these changes, our need for school supplies has reduced significantly.

So what does it look like to “Share the Love” this February?

Sharing the Love in 2021

We are still offering tangible ways to give this February, but you’ll notice the items available to purchase through our Amazon Wishlist are focused on supporting operations in the classroom and in our two warehouses or preparing our graduates as they go to work through Advance Memphis Staffing & Outsourcing Services. Some of the items include steel-toed work boots for working graduates, or “Jesus Calling,” a devotional resource for people interested in growing in their faith. All of these supplies play a role in supporting staff and neighbors throughout the year! Alternatively, you can drop off supplies at 769 Vance Ave. by February 26th.

If you are looking for other ways to support the ongoing work of Advance Memphis, we are seeking to grow our team of individuals committed to regular prayer and monthly giving. Please consider joining the Good Neighbor Network and helping sustain this work.
