May Prayer Letter

Dear Advance Memphis Prayer Warriors,

There is no denying that the past two years have been incredibly difficult and brought countless changes. We are so grateful that we have a God who remains constant through every challenge and in every season. As we enter into this new season, please join us in prayer, for our neighbors, our organization, and for our city.

We are encouraged to see an increase in our graduates coming back into the office to go back to work through our staffing services recently! As we continue to see throughout the nation, we are in a completely new landscape of workforce development in the midst of an ongoing labor shortage. Mothers and families are struggling to feed their babies due to the formula shortage that has swept our country after the closure of a major plant in Michigan, and the cost of living is rising steadily. As we petition the throne of grace, may we meditate on this truth:

"I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and will execute justice for the needy." - Psalm 140:12

Would you please pray with us the following:

  • Pray for employers, that they would be able to meet their staffing needs and treat their employees with dignity and respect.

  • Continue to pray for our recruitment efforts. Pray that our staff would have wisdom, direction, and creativity as we reach out to our neighbors.

  • Pray for our staff as we start preparing for Art for Jobs and begin recruiting artists and sponsors for this year's fundraiser.

  • Please pray that the Lord would "send out more workers into the harvest' (Matthew 9:38) and that He would send us the right staff as we look to hire a Work Life Manager, Communication Coordinator, and On Site Supervisor.

  • Pray for our graduates who want to work, but are suffering with the road blocks of mental illness, alcohol, and/or substance abuse.

  • Pray for the mothers and families who are being affected by the current formula shortage and that this issue would be resolved quickly.

  • Pray for our government officials, that God would give them wisdom and insight, and that they would govern this country in a way that honors Him.
